What resolution would you set the Galaxy S7 edge to when you get the updated settings menu

So, Samsung is hard at work with the major Android 7 Nougat update for its most current flagships — the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge (sorry, Note 7, we miss you). And some lucky users have already had the chance to enroll in a beta-testing program for the new software.

It is through them that we learned today of a new feature headed for the Galaxies — an options menu within Settings that allows the user to pick a resolution of their own choosing... well out of the 3 options, that is — HD (720 x 1280), FHD (1080 x 1920), and QHD (1440 x 2560). Of course, weve seen this menu before — it was on the Note 7. But its life was cut short by the minor annoyance of an exploding battery, so we didnt get to enjoy its unique features a whole lot.

But back to the S7 / edge. Word is that, currently, when you update to Android 7, the phone will default to the FHD resolution (1080 x 1920), not the full, ultra-crisp QHD. This could be an overlook with the beta, but it could also be a conscious decision on Samsungs part. We thought wed ask — which resolution would you choose on your S7 (hey, even if you dont have one — imagine that you do and join the fun) once the Nougat update comes?

Glossy black Galaxy S7 launching next month to take on the Jet black iPhone 7

Samsung has already brought the much-loved Blue Coral hue from the now-dead Galaxy Note7 to the Galaxy S7 edge, but that apparently wasnt the last new color version well see this year for one of its flagships.

According to a new report from Samsungs home country of South Korea, a glossy black Galaxy S7 should be out in early December. The information allegedly comes from certain unnamed "industry sources".

In case youre wondering - yes, this will be glossier in appearance than the black Galaxy S7 version thats already out. Its also very likely that this has a lot to do with how successful Apples glossy Jet Black hue for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus has proven to be. Samsung is also looking to capitalize on new color launches for the S7 line, hoping it can milk some more sales from such moves, since it had to cancel the Note7 and that has clearly hurt its bottom line.

What isnt yet clear is whether the glossy black Galaxy S7 will be launched globally, or if it will be limited to select markets. If this rumor pans out however, were bound to find out soon enough.
